New Social Contract

Manuel Muñiz has spent many years researching, writing, and lecturing on the topic of the social contract, its fracture and its consequences. Dr. Muñiz has also had direct policy experience, having served as Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Spanish Foreign Ministry, and having led the Strategy and Foresight Unit at the Ministry.

A new social contract

Govtech for Governance Solutions:

To address these challenges, the text suggests solutions involving collaboration between AI developers, regulation of AI technologies, taxation, retraining the workforce, and the need for ethical frameworks in AI development.

Chapters

The fundamental thesis of the book is that the current social contract is
broken. This is a consequence of accelerated, and poorly-governed, change on
numerous fronts, and the insecurity this brings to citizens. Perhaps the two most
significant manifestations of this process would be the shifting economic
paradigm and the unsustainable pressure being put on the environment.
